For the last day, the Band,
instruments and all, assemble on the upper field to play through
their repertoire and march with their instruments.

A surprise visit from old
friends! The alumni from Delaware State University and Cheney
University car-pooled to come up to the camp on the last day.
Above you see Alumnus Neil Davis (red DSU shirt) giving Devante
Hinson a lesson on how to hit those high notes. I guess it helps
to make a "Louis Armstrong" face!

The Band was supposed to board
the buses for East Orange shortly after breakfast. 10:00 AM, in
fact. The photo shows them patiently still waiting for the buses
at 1:08 PM, sitting around and swapping camp stories. The
visiting alumni held little jam sessions by sections just to make
the waiting time productive and educational. Everything in life
is a lesson to be learned from, if you have the right teachers,
like alumni Neil Davis (in red) and Denzel Thompson (sitting on
table at the right).

The newly formed 2013 drumline
gets some expert advice from alumnus Isaac Davis as they try to
drum up a bus.

It worked! The good news is that
the buses have arrived while the drummers were drumming. The bad
news is that now they have to be loaded up again with all the
instruments and camp supplies, and then the luggage.

Everyone lends a hand and the bus
is soon loaded and ready for the trip back to East Orange.

The bus trip home is quiet, since
most of the Band are using the time to nap, or talk on the phone,
or just clown around for the camera.
