Nutley High School
vs
East Orange Campus High
at Paul Robeson Stadium, East Orange, NJ
11/10/12
This game was
postponed from 11/03/12 (last Saturday) because of the damage and
problems caused by Hurricane Sandy
during its passage through East Orange on October 28th and 29th. Schools in East Orange were closed for
safety reasons during the clean-up, and then there was a major
snow-storm that closed the schools again on November 8th, so the
Band has not had many chances to get together for practice before
this game. They'll make up for lost time today.
Before going to
the stadium for the football game, the Band was asked to stop by
the Turrell YMCA which is opposite Rowley Park, to participate in
their Ka-Boom Playground
Renewal project.
They played to an
enthusiastic crowd of workers, administrators, and neighborhood
residents who were participating in the playground project. See
the video below.
Then the Band
crossed the street to practice for the football game at Rowley
Park. You can see the YMCA in the background as the Band works
out their formation for a "homecoming" ceremony that
never took place during the game, but they were prepared in case
it happened.

While they were
in formation, they paused to take a group portrait of the entire
Band. This photo, or one like it, will be used on their
application to participate in the Presidential Inauguration
Parade in Washington, DC, on 01/21/13. They all look forward to
this possibility if their application is accepted.

Then it was time
to march to Paul Robeson Stadium for the final game of the
football season.
The Band ends the
2012 Football season with one of their Tunnel Dance Marches,
featuring each member of the Band as they parade by the camera.
For many of the seniors in the Band, this will be their last
performance at a high school football game. See the video below:
