There has been no cancellation
or postponement notice, so it seems that tonight's Fireworks
event is ON. The East Orange Unified Marching Band Photos will be
shown on this page.

Here is what has been happening.
Band Director Mr. Goode was out of school because of a back
injury. He has made a recovery and just in time to bring the Band
to the East Orange 4th of July Celebration at Paul Robeson
Stadium. MEANWHILE, the first hurricane of the season, Hurricane
Arthur, is moving up the eastern coast making today (7/4/14) a
rainy day, but now (5:30 PM) the sky has cleared, the sun is out
and it seems the Event is ON as planned!
What you see in the photo and
video is a mixture of students from elementary, middle and high
school, plus alumni home from college, and other adult
volunteers, some parents of band students and some just there to
help out. All are volunteering their time and effort because
school is not in session. They are there because they love their
Before the rain starts coming
down, the drumline goes out to the school parking lot to work out
their percussion routines. If it is rainy on the Fourth and the
event is postponed, the band will still be rehearsing at the
school, because rehearsals and practice sessions are never
cancelled or postponed.
