Sigma Omega Psi
Tonight, 12/09/09, the Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter of
Sigma Omega Psi was formed at the Cicely Tyson School in East
Orange, NJ.

Mr. Frederick Goode, the Band Director, led the
organizational phase of the meeting, making sure the students
knew the meaning and requirements for becoming a member of an
honor society.

The students asked questions, did computer
research on the Tri-M Society and began organizing themselves
into the role of officers of the new chapter.

Davette McKoy was chosen as President.

David Friday was chosen as Vice President.

Lloyd Tomlinson was chosen as Secretary, or
"Scribbler" as he preferred to be called.

Once the officers had been chosen, Mr. Goode
stepped aside and let the new officers continue organizing
themselves and making decisions for announcing the new society,
and planning their first community event to be held at the
Mayor's Inaugurational Ball on January 1st.
Until the Chapter gets its own Web site up and
running, we will continue to host news of the Music Honor Society
on this site.
